TOBIRAMA DECIDED TO HUMOUR HER. "Verily, I must confess that a swift assault would indeed invigorate me to a greater extent than a surreptitious strike," he conceded, gracing her with a faint smile that bespoke an intimacy reserved solely for kin.
With a gentle pat upon the seat beside him, he extended an invitation to the tempestuous kunoichi, accompanied by the words, "I implore you, do join me." Such an overture conveyed an enduring welcome, a perpetual embrace extended exclusively to her.
Though lacking the gift of clairvoyance, Tobirama possessed an innate ability to discern the tumultuous currents of her ruminations with remarkable acuity, gleaned from the subtle interplay of emotions etched upon her face and the restless chakra that flickered just beneath the surface. With genuine concern marking his features, he inquired, "Pray tell, what plagues your spirit?" Should it be something that fell within the realm of his capacity to alleviate, he promised not to permit her to return home burdened in such a manner.
"Though my expertise in dispensing counsel may not be unparalleled, I must confess..." he cast a furtive gaze around their surroundings, creating an atmosphere of conspiracy, "...your father often sought my counsel during our youth."
She had been about to leave her perch when he called out to her, having set her eyes on different hiding-spot. But it seemed the moment had passed.
“Is there anything you are in need of, Maeko?”
The question made her pause, and a muscle to play in her jaw. With well practiced movement, she maneuvered herself through the tree, before swinging down and landing lightly at the base of its trunk. "Is keeping you on your toes not enough reason, uncle?" She ventured an easy smile and a few steps towards the bench. "But since that failed, I suppose I was hoping I could join your company, for a little while." It had become one of the worse parts. When she for one reason or another couldn't fill her day with training, the more intense the better, restlessness and the solitude would consume her. Her father. Busy. Her mother. Busy. Her older brother. Busy. Hell even little Kichiro was busy and would be even more so when he'd start the academy! As for the rest of the Senju, unless she had the desire to spend time with the very youngest then the same frustrating fact applied. Busy. It was driving her insane. "Please?"

@hatredcurse asked: [ OC ]: for the mun to talk about a mun’s original character (OC) muse who they really like, for any reason at all, from the way that they’re written, themes that are referenced in the portrayal, how the mun explores their character, the characteristics and personality and relationships found in their portrayal, etc.
River. There are so many OCs I could talk about within the Naruto RP Community. One mun’s blog sticks out to me in particular, and it’s @woodblxssomcrowned (previously thexsenjuxheirs) for their OC portrayals of Maeko, Danma, and Kichiro. As Senju Hashirama and Uzumaki Mito’s offspring, Em has not only created fleshed-out muses (Maeko especially) but added on and elevated the world of Naruto with their writing, headcanons, and beautiful depictions of artwork. I’m always blown away by what she’ll post next. It’s clear she’s worked hard to breathe life into characters and a part of the Naruto timeline she loves.
We’ve been mutuals for a long time, back when I had a single-muse blog, and find it such a shame that we’ve never once roleplayed with one another. My muse’s verses didn’t expand to the Warring States/ Founders timeline, but since has because I’ve fallen in love with the era. I will always watch this blog from afar and admire Em’s content, hoping to one day have a chance to write with them. More people should do the same. ❤️
Much love and respect.

Something Familiar
[starter for @thexsenjuxheirs]
“Again.”
There was patience in his voice, and the sort of kind strictness a student could expect from their teacher. Maeko was making progress, but in Tobirama’s eyes she was far from reaching her full potential.
“Remember your right foot, Maeko. Keep your focus on it before you strike.”
He raised his own katana, crimson eyes on his niece, checking her stance constantly. She had Senju strength, that much was clear, and while she lacked in some areas, Tobirama would make sure she excelled in others. Such as wielding a katana, and learning how to strike fast enough to leave your opponent little to no chance to dodge or parry.
“Your right leg is the one to carry you forward, the left one to determine your path.”

[starter for @thexsenjuxheirs]
Something had crossed the river into their territory. As soon as he’d sensed it, Izuna had taken off on his own. If he woke Madara from his sleep, this was bound to turn into something arduous and political. No, Izuna would take care of this alone. Someone would die at his hands tonight, and it would feel good. It had been too long since he spilled Senju blood.
And there was no mistaking that faint earthiness of Senju chakra. Disgusting. His blood boiled with anticipation of a kill and Izuna sped up his pace through the trees.
She’d walked further away from the village than she normally would, further into the unknown world which still teased and incited her to explore it. The villagers spoke of red-eyed demons and ghosts beyond the river and forbade their children from going there.
“Enter that forest on your own risk,” Maeko had heard Tama say to a traveler. “There are things in there that doesn’t like to be disturbed.” There were similar nonsense surrounding the forest of a thousand paths that the Senju did not try to change. The buddha’s will whisper softly to you and lead you astray, you will lose your mind and soul before finding your way home again. And then the shadows will take you, and the will be no trace of you for anyone to follow.’ The shinobi didn’t need civilians poking around in their territories, exploiting the superstitions of farmers helped with that.
Maeko peered into the darkness. It seemed…thick, and she got the feeling that if she would tread any further it would swallow and suffocate her. She took a step back, away from the beckoning darkness, the grass tickling her bare feet and the trickling and lapping of the river behind her keeping her grounded in reality.
As much as the darkness was drawing her in, she was not a fool. It wasn’t her job to try and see beyond this illusion, or go exploring beyond the village. It wasn’t her job to attract trouble.

woodblxssomcrowned PSA :: Maeko name change madness!
So...after some encouragement and support on the matter, I have made the decision to do what I have been wanting to do for y e a r s, and that I definitely realize I should probably have taken the opportunity to do when I rebooted these character back in last summer after a very long hiatus.
I'll be changing Maeko's name.
As said in this post and that I have mentioned many times, I wasn't planning on getting so attached to these characters when I first named them, and I picked their names almost at random. I have since changed Danma's name, because the original one was very much not fitting for many reasons and I absolutely couldn't leave it as it was. And I've been wanting to change Maeko's name too, many times, for ages, but I felt weird doing it as it was so established and used by that point. And it still is. But I've never been able to warm up to it, never felt it actually fit the character she became. I couldn't even really justify it by thinking that it was a name her parents picked for her, because it didn't feel very fitting either.
So, as of 29/01-2024, Maeko will be renamed Kaname. - I will go back and change her name in old posts best I can - I will only be changing the posts made on this blog, not ones I made on my old one (thexsenjuxheirs) which is still shadowbanned. If I reblog posts from there I will make a note of the name change. - I will change her tags from ;;Maeko to ;;Kaname - I have added a note at the top of my pinned post regarding the change - In ongoing threads I will likely still use the old name until the thread is concluded, if I do decide that I want to switch to the new name I will inform the partner in question. - In new threads, askbox replies and other posts I will be using her new name, but might clarify the name change for a little while moving forward through various means depending on the post in question - I understand that this might be weird and confusing, but I do feel pretty good about finally going through with it, so I hope all my followers and RP partners, old, current and new, will bear with me during this transition
千手 花和芽 - Senju Kaname
Roughly translated to "flower bud" 花 - (ka) - Flowers, blossoms, bloom, petals, shape of flower, beauty 和 - (na) - Harmony, peace, concord 芽 - (me) - Bud, sprout, beginning, something newly born and bound to grow

Musashi took a rare excursion from his room, and turned down the hall to a part of the house he rarely visited. He’d had no reason to see and of the Senju children…but the winter had brought the lone daughter of Hashirama home. Musashi would have very few chances to ask her his questions before she was long for the daimyo’s residence.
With no lack of discomfort at what would surely be an awkward meeting, Musashi rapped at Maeko’s door.
“My lady.” He said, voice a little muttered. “May I speak with you?”
She had already stopped reading when she’d heard the footsteps coming down the hall, and raised her head from the scroll when there was a knock on the frame of her door. And she furrowed her brow at the voice from the other side of the sliding door.
“Very well,” She shifted away from the low desk, still on her knees but facing the doorway. “Come on in.”

WHEN HE WAS OUT OF THE OFFICE, Tobirama would usually find himself sitting on one of the benches that were built all around Konoha, simply surveying the streets and observing its people. He would assist if asked, and help if needed. In his mind's eye, Tobirama had the idea that this was a contribution to the prosperity of their village.
Casually nibbling on a dorayaki, Tobirama let his eyes wander over Konoha's citizens, ninjas and civilians alike. One could easilY tell them apart, either by way they dressed or the way they carried themselves around people. In addition, Tobirama had a greater advantage; he could easily single out the people with greater chakra control by his sensor abilities.
Which came in handy in moments like this. Swallowing the cake and anko filling his mouth, Tobirama's senses picked up a decidedly familiar chakra signature, similar to that of his brothers but much milder, missing that control Hashirama had over his.
One of his children, then. Tobirama concluded, taking another bite from the confection, letting the sweet paste to coat his tongue as he mulled it over his head; whether he should call out to them or let them observe him from their hiding spot. Not Danma, and certainly not Kichiro ( the absence of the Kyuubi's chakra was very telling ), Tobirama hazard an easy guess.
Letting Maeko have her fill for a moment more, Tobirama finished his dorayaki before calling out to her, “Is there anything you are in need of, Maeko?”

She was twelve, and strong and fast. As strong and fast as she would have been if she'd been trained in the academy, probably more so. Definitely more so. She liked to tell herself that at least. She had to keep telling herself that.
She was growing taller too but was still small and narrow by frame, still a good size for hiding in smaller spaces. She was pretty good at that too.
Maeko had been sitting there, peering at her uncle from her hiding-spot, perfectly quiet and still, for the past ten minutes, watching him.
She had been surpised to spot him, when he'd so often be hiding away in his personal work, looking over her father's shoulders or overseeing his students during the day. But it had been a very much welcome distraction from her general boredom and solitude that day.
Prior to settling in her current hiding-spot, she'd been on the roof, and as quickly as she had dared without causing the tiles to make a sound, or disturb any of its bark or branches, transferred herself into the tree that was a mere stride from the ledge. Curling up there in the foliage, and stayed quiet, watching him for any sign that he'd heard her.
She had no doubt he knew she was there, but he had not called her out. Perhaps that meant she had not given herself away in any other way than simply existing in his vicinity.
She couldn't do much about that part.

Her muscles were aching, but she endured. She had been the one begging him to train with her, to teach her, so she wasn't going to complain. That had been a few years ago but still, she wasn’t going to take her uncle's time and effort for granted. Maeko would keep going until he told her otherwise, or until she dropped from exhaustion.
“I know,” she angled her right leg, locking her foot firmly into the ground as she raised her sword in front of her.
“Right leg for speed, left for direction,” Maeko murmured to herself, shaking her head to throw loose strands of hair away from her face.
Then she moved, pushing the ground away from herself, sprinting forward as she swung the blade at Tobirama’s chest.
